Antepartum Services: Help! Your doctor said "bedrest" and who's going to watch the kids, walk the dog,
and take care of the meals and the house? Antepartum services are here to get you through those difficult
days of bedrest by giving you an extra set of hands when you need them the most! Not only will you have help
in the home a few hours a day, but you will also have access to information and education about your pregnancy, with the option
to receive childbirth and newborn care classes at your bedside. Nursing care can also be added to your day if you need
help with managing your high-risk pregnancy. You choose exactly what you need to make this time as stress-free
as possible.
Postpartum Services: If only newborns came with instructions! You are excited and exhausted,
your new baby (or babies) arrived, but now what? You need time to rest, recover, and bond as a new family. Postpartum
services allow you to do just that. In addition to teaching you at home about how to care for your recovering body
and your new baby, postpartum care includes light housekeeping (wiping counters, laundry, dishes, sweeping), simple meal preparation,
and care of other children or pets in the household.
Birth Doula Services-Your doula will make sure you know what's happening and why during each stage of labor,
and will help you obtain the information you need to make informed choices when necessary. She'll make you as comfortable
as possible through use of positioning, heat and cold, massage and effleurage. She'll be cheering you on and encouraging
you when you want to give up. She'll keep the relatives up to date on what's happening so you and your partner are not
disturbed during labor. She'll help your partner to relax, too, by taking the responsibility for "knowing how to
help you" off his shoulders, and allowing him to give you all his love and attention during contractions. Your
doula will stay with you through labor and delivery, and for one to two hours postpartum to help with breastfeeding if
so desired.
Private Classes- Life is busy, and it's not always easy to find time for a traditional childbirth class.
A childbirth preparation class in your own home can be scheduled at your convenience. In three ninety minute classes
you can learn everything you need to be well-prepared for labor and delivery. Classes are customized to your needs.
